my one concern, if i think of myself as a customer, is how would i know my cards NOT being scanned and/or having its image taken a pic of with this device?

its a great concept, but im a little leery, as a customer, to allow someone to scan my card, and then they alos have access to my security number on the back as well.

and, i know, allot of ppl use prepaids right now. my account, is actually, a prepaid account. and if they dont support deposits to that, then thats not a good choice for me right now. maybe in the future.

ONE STEP CLOSER TO GETTING MY SHOP

so, today on the way home from church we stopped by the indoor flea market to hand off a tie i had made for one of the young ladies there, while we were there we noticed the booth i was interested in, was filled, with clothes.

i was bummed.

next largest one, is double that size, and i expected it to be double the price, but to make sure we knew what we were looking for and asking for, we went and chatted with the  ppl who run this indoor flea market.

and found out that the  booth thats double in size is only 30.00 more dollars a month to rent. its 160.00 40 a week, makes it 20 a day to have to run, not bad pricing. other was 130.00 a month.

i could pay by the week, or by the month.
i have to decide.
and was advised to get a tax number as well, just in case the tax ppl come in and want to inspect. (not a bad idea, truthfully, keeps me honest, not that i wouldnt be.. just easier to not be when your not regulated, too easy to break and bend rules.

so, i went too look at the spaces we were told were  available.

this was the space i was looking at.

last we were there it had pegboard all up on the walls.
unbeknownst to us, these 2 i show were built for the lady thats behind them, we wernt told that when i was looking. i was told they were available and could be rented.

it looks so much larger in the image than it really is, its about 6x10. not even the size of a regular bedroom. but it was going to be enough to hold all these clothes im getting.

so, because i was  still wanting to get a space, o decided to look, one more time at the double the size of the other and take this pic.

they say they are taking all that peg board down, because ppl wernt walking down those ways to look at anything, because they couldnt see anything. and they will  put up some wire up, so you can still hang stuff.
i like the back wall, where id put something up that could be a rack to hold clothes, and  maybe even 2 of thiose, and under that some kind of shelving, or something, for other things.

id like to have a book case to display my dolls. and id want my most expensive clothes to be hung up behind the counter. (if i get a counter).

we were concerned that the entire thing was going to be completely open like you see in this picture, but we were told they will have that mesh wire up, and a way to lock it all if we arnt there to tend to it.

there was another one, i didnt get a pic of, that was already built up, just having the peg board removed, and i liked it alot, has 2 doors, and a corner between them, i could get a small corner shelf or a tall thin one, and use that corner for stuff, i dont want to waste any space.

i love the "feel" of this when you look at it, very rustic, and almost true hand made, id LOVE to have something like this in that corner. and one reason is because id like to try to make sure that what ever is on it doesnt get stolen.
but, because the owners want to have a more open feel ill prolly have to look for something like this:
im thinking ill have my gel scents sitting on the shelf.
maybe ill have baby toys on it, or kids books, i havnt really decided yet.

i said id be back next week, maybe actually put a deposit on this space i like..but i wanted to wait to see how it looked and felt once they redid the thing.
they are also adding 2 booths on the end of the one picture i show above (double sized). maybe ill get one of those.

all i know right now, is ill have to get it while the irons hot, or im gonna have a bunch of baby clothes i cant sell in a store. the place is filling up pretty fast.

so, thats the latest on this adventure.

VIDEO/ TUTORIAL - DIY - GEL SCENTED JARS

saw this scroll through my facebook feed, wanted to grab it, so i could apply this to something sometime in the future.

seems easy enough, and with the right scents, i bet for the couple of bucks yyou spedn making these, you could sell them for about 5 and double your money back.

im considering making baby powder scented ones for my doll shop, so ppl can have that fresh baby smell with them all the time.
pretty sure these would sell, if they were in pastel muted baby tones for the colors, and had some nice lable on them.

punch holes in the lid, have some kind of plastic, wax paper in side until the client opens the lid, removes the paper, and reseals it, its a good to go item then.

life span? about a month.

supplies needed for this are:
directions can also be found HERE

- heat proof jars (I used mason jars, because I have a million and what's cuter than a mason jar?)
- 4 packages of instant unflavored gelatin
- food coloring
- salt
- essential oils or fragrance of your choice

First you'll prepare your jar(s).  This entire recipe filled up one pint jar, but you can use several smaller jars if you want to put these throughout your home.  Add a few drops of coloring, and approx 30 drops of essential oil or fragrance.  The more drops, the stronger the fragrance (obviously!)

Now, you'll boil 1 c of water on the stove.  When the water is boiling, you'll pour your gelatin packages into the pot.  WHISK.  WHISK FURIOUSLY.  I'm not even kidding, peeps - this stuff gets jelly like pretty fast and if you aren't furiously whisking you'll get clumps.  I may or may not be speaking from experience.  Once your gelatin is dissolved due to your professional grade whisking, you'll want to add 1 more cup of cold water and 1 Tblsp of salt.  The salt will help your gel from getting moldy, so don't forget this part!  Continue stirring until the salt is dissolved, and then pour into your prepared jars.  Stir with a wooden stick or spoon and let sit overnight until gel is set.

Then, decorate your jar!   fastened with a mason jar lid ring, but you could leave it open completely - no lid needed!

love how low these are. BALL product mason jars.

unflavored gelatin does NOT have to be this name brand, if you can find generic, it would most likely be just as good. and it will save you some cash.
any brand will do fine.
but if you want NEON colors i found this:
while i was looking at that, i saw recipes for how to mix the colors to make different colors, and shades :

salt, any brand will do..

and the vital part: ESSENTIAL OILS which is where the scent comes from

so, for MY idea, ill have to look for baby smells, lavender is one...
but i may have to also try to find a super fragrant baby oil smell...just for that "baby powder" fresh smell.

if i get to the store (walmart, its right around the corner from my house) ill do a price comparison of all of these, because i know they have oils in the candle section as well, and see what the price would be to make one gel scent holder.

NEW NAME FOR THE SHOP? maybe

ok, so for a while now ive just ben trying to find something generic enough,a nd cachy enough to have ppl remember in the name of the store, name will be something that  will remind ppl where to come and get stuff...

so, today as i was sorting through some clothes i had gotten from an online connection on Facebook, it came to me the name should be:
PINK & BLUE or BLUE & PINK

i asked on Facebook on a status update and got PINK & BLUE, as well as another name i have to thgink about. BLINK (well, Baby Blink)
so i asked what was the word BLINK for? what was the reason it was there?
(BL)ue/P(INK) which i liked seeing, but not sure that would come across in the name itself.

went to a cubscout blue & gold banquet and asked a couple of ppl what they thought and they liked :PINK & BLUE as a name.

its simple, has a meaning, and it  relates to babies.

now, im trying to design business cards for this name.
my store will have to be decorated in said colors, just to reflect the  name, or, at least soft muted baby tines of all the colors, and  the accents for the store in pink & blue.

this is my 1st idea for a business card.

of course theres still things to do to it, like make a facebook page, and connect that
decide if i want my email to be attached to this or not.

and thats besides sorting, and organizing, and still getting the things i NEED to have the store even be open.
id LIKE to take a pic of said  space, so i can have something to look at and dream about and make plans with, but we forget to go on saturdays, and sundays has a block of church attached to it for 3 hours. and we forget then as well.

ill get there, even if its not a physical store and is only a web store (i could sell everything i have right now on ebay and make a fortune!) i have some supplies to start with, and thats a beginning!

MY 2 BOXES I WAS WAITING ON WAS DELIVERD

of you lok really close at the bottom of the image is my PC mouse. i  wanted that in the pic to give a size reference for these boxes, which went light, either, by the way.

ive looked through both, and counted out...141 separate items in them!!
all for 100.00!!!
that averages to 1.41 per item! so i make a profit if i sell it for more than a buck and a half.
3 bucks an item, and i have made my money back and double for each thing.

and if im lucky, tomorrow ill have another box with maybe 100 items in it, who knows. so, im going to have to sort through sizes of items, and ill make sure i update with pics of hat i actually have and what not.

MY 'OTHER' ONLINE ORDER STATUS

well, looks like the box ive been waiting on the longest, is in Dallas.
i should get it tomorrow i guess.

put in for this on the 3rd, had to wait for MRB to come back from a trip for her to send it off, and its taken the longest, with 2 other orders , one from a web site, and the other from an independant seller on Facebook, arriving BEFORE This one has.

i have to THANK the internet, for making my life feel so much more balanced so, i can watch a delivery cross the country.

as i think about that, im not sure why this one didnt just stop in Oklahoma...went to a state further UNDER me, than i actually needed to, eh..thats our tax dollars at work, i guess, seems pointless to waste that much gas on a box of baby clothes, when this thing could have been at my door a fw days ago had it just went straight to me....but what do *I* know?!?!?! (lol)

will have to do the same for these as the others, and sort them all when i get them.
organize other items, if i have baby bottled and such, have to make sure anything outside of a sealed package is stricktly for reborn dolls, and not for sale for an actual infant.
just for sanitary reasons alone.
i just dont feel right about doing it that way, if ppl want to buy baby bottled and pacifiers, they can buy them sealed in a package, i intend to have that as well in there, just because some ppl with dolls want a real thing, unmodified, or altered, and if they do, so will real moms with real babies (hopefully)

so, this should arrive tomorrow, while my other package will come today.

:)

ONLINE ORDR OF BABY CLOTHES IS IN TOWN !!

didnt take too long for this one to arrive to me, thankfully!
cant say the same for the other order im STILL waiting on arriving to my door.

edited the tracking number so the image couldnt be used by anyone who may want to go in and claim its theirs, when it isnt.
so, that wont happen, of course i COULD have just deleted that entire thing, but then i felt like the image would look photoshopped, and it isnt, its edited with microsoft paint, and all i did was cut every other section of 5 numbers , and then texted over it with "*"

i really shouldnt have to explain that, but someones gonna ask, and thats your answer.

so, by, maybe 3:30pm ill have this at my door.
ill take pics of each item, just because there may be details on the clothes id like to highlight. i often like making sure the item is profiled nicely!

but here what i compiled from the sellers images she shared with me (as a rmeinder, because i have another blog about this up already on here)

so, all of this is in the box, plus a few more she has told me about.
biggest part of this endevor will be to sort through them all and organize them by size.

ive been doing that with the clothes i have already. so when i open shop, ill have everything ready to just go up and be ready to be looked at and purchased.

ive been trying to figure out a way to designate in a store clothing sizes.

ill have some
MICRO PREEMIE
PREEMIE
0-3
3 months
3-6months
6 months
6-9monhs
9 months
9-12months
12 months
and bigger even

but i need a clean (meaning organized) way of having them all be able to be looked at and just know thats the size your looking for...ive thought about colored hangers, but im not sure theres enough colors, and the investment would be outrageous for as much as i think ill have to hang up..

colored tags?
i like the way walmart does their size selections, they have the hangers with little tags on them in different colors.
im not sure how much that would cost, or exactly where to get those at. ill have to look.

so much more to deal with than just getting the clothes. *sigh*
